LOAD Day 1 -Housekeeping
We needed to create a layout with the title "Once Upon a Time".
It brought me back to a time post motherhood of the things that made me reading 3-4 books a week, I have no time to finish even 1 book these days.  I loved this challenge it helped me to see how things have changed including some of my desires as a child.  What where you like "Once Upon a Time"?
LOAD Day #2 - Perspective
This layout was to show what makes your life  or situation unique.
My layout demonstrates my love of the country and that despite my being born and raised in the city I am a country girl at heart....what makes your life unique?

Hello All!

I hope you all are excited to hopefully have a long Labor Day weekend I know I am there is so much to prepare for next week. My boys start school Matt is a senior this year... wow college visits, applications, decisions decisions.  Luke begins 4th grade at a new school this year where he will be blessed to learn the violin and begins his dance lessons (at school)  which will begin with Ball Room dancing  how awesome is that?!!  I am so excited and prayerful that I will have the health and endurance to do it all for me and my boys.  Change is good and despite the feeling of uncertainty I know GOD will equip us to make the changes as well as learn the lessons during and after these changes.  :)

Let me share that next week I will hosting a Operation Write Home Birthday Bash here in New York City.  In July  I was blessed to have celebrated my first year of my Meetup, a year ago I embarked on what was unfamiliar to me but to a calling in my life to teach others how to relax and learn a hobby thus I created Serenity-in-Manhattan.  Although I was unaware how to do it, how often, what kinds of things to teach GOD reminded me of what relaxed me and gave me much joy, scrapbooking and card making.  So after 1 year I am proud to say that although my classes are not bursting at the seams yet I am truly blessed.  So in honor my gratitude for my blessing I thought I would be a blessing to others so I searched then fell in LOVE ...with Operation Write Home and their mission which is: To support our nation’s armed forces by sending blank greeting cards to write home on, as well as cards of gratitude to encourage them what a perfect way to celebrate.

I am HAPPY to invite you all to join me, even if you can't come to Manhattan please join me in creating homemade cards for the armed services September 11th.  It is a great time to remind us of what they do for our country and that we have not forgotten about their daily sacrifices.  All are welcome to join me in from 10am - 2pm in Manhattan (email me for address) if you cannot make it please create a few cards perhaps you can mail them to me  so that I can include them in Serenity-in -Manhattan's goal of 300 cards I believe and have faith that we will exceed our initial goal with the help of us all.

Thank you all for joining me by visiting my blog  I truly enjoy the sweet comments and look forward to a better blogging experience with you all. My regular challenges will be back in 2 weeks but there may be a video tutorial coming soon so keep checking back!

Have a wonderful and safe Labor Day weekend how befitting to find this great quote....

Operation Write Home
Midweek Throwdown challenge
Their challenge this week is Halloween!
They challenged us to make Halloween cards for our heroes to send home to their loved ones!
A special request this Halloween card making season:

We encourage you to stay away from "death" and "skulls and crossbones" for your Halloween cards. Happy little ghosties and skeletons are fine, and there are even some silly skulls (add some wiggly eyes and you can cheer up just about anything!)...... but some of the stamps and papers out there can be pretty gloomy....and while our heroes may love all the spooky side of the holiday, and their families as well, we would still like to stay on the 'happy' side of Halloween. Why? Well, if something unfortunately happened to one of our heroes, and a gloomy card was the final communication between them and their family—you get the idea? We want to help that be a positive memory for all concerned!

So this is my take on the card challenge  thankfully  they wanted fun idea,s so to support them  I  joined the challenge, don't you love this sweet mummy?  I know there is a "Mummy" missing her babies while she is fighting for OUR country, so my prayers are with them all for a safe return to their little ones.  Hug and love on your little ones today... I know I did.  My boys even helped me with my design I am so blessed to have them with me everyday and I am so thankful for their love and support.
Hoping you'll join in on the fun and play along!!!

Have a wonderful day WOoWeE we are having a 3 day weekend lots to do YIKES its the last weekend of the summer!
I am hopeful you will get it all in there including some relaxing time to create I know I will!!!

My layout  displays my beautiful and handsome son but I normally would not use as much  bling nor would I use the color purple for my boys, lastly I decided to pour my heart out to my son who sometimes thinks I don't understand him so that he can see that I am just a mom who loves her son.  So what do you think about the bling I created it myself with my new I-Rock because I was just so excited and nearly died looking it at my desk all day at work and not being able to play with it so I needed to use it ASAP what do you think?  Will my son be completely embarrassed by my purple and green layout?

Happy Summer all! A HUGE Happy Birthday to my son Matthew!! My hope is that you all are enjoying your summer so far. We are not quite enjoying the heat but the activities are abundant. Luke is enjoying his first full month of camp he is not a fan of camp as his past experiences have not been good ones, this time there are a few struggles but he is enjoying most of it. Interesting enough he has an old soul and continually says “Mom they need to treat all the kids respectfully, my friend is from Africa and I know he is different but that does not mean they should treat him bad.” So he has taken his new friend under his wing and has defended him to other children and says “Suliman is my friend a good friend Mom”. He even prays for him at night that GOD will protect him when he takes the train alone after camp. It really blessed my heart to know that when I teach him the principles of being a child of GOD he completely understands and puts it into practice. Matthew is doing his usual outdoors camping but this year he is back packing and climbing mountains in West Virginia. A blessing form GOD all expense paid and then when he returns he will go back to the Camp Interactive site here in the Bronx and with his team develop (from scratch) a website with photo and video footage of his outdoor experience. Only GOD could bless both him and I with a camp that encompasses his LOVE of the outdoors (he’s a Boy scout), and his passion for Information technology. I tell you when GOD delivers us the desires of our hearts it is something to be amazed at. I miss him dearly as there is no communication from him for 7 days and not to mention I cannot tell him Happy Birthday today when he turned 17. ..sniffle I am proud of him and cannot wait to see my baby who always seems to mature after these trips and is sprouting into a young man right before my eyes. When he is done developing the site I will post the link so you all can see their magnificent work. Enjoy the remainder of this month, I may be able to post something up about our little vacation well actually a STAY-cation. ;) I am looking forward to some rest and relaxation with my 2 babies….shhhh I know they are not babies but they will always be MY babies. TFD: Give your loved ones some affection today and a few hugs. Telling your family and friends you love them is so important because life is so precious! May GOD bless you and keep you and your families safe! Talk to you all soon! -christine

Happy Mother's Day to all the amazing women who have been blessed by motherhood. I enjoyed my day creating strawberry pies with my oldest Matt and have to say it was awesome to be with my boys quietly on my special day! May GOD bless you all and shower you with blessings today and always!! Have a great day! -christine
Hello all! How are you all doing? I personally have been adjusting to life’s changes as best as I could thus I have not been able to post on my blog. My hope is that life is going well for you all and that you are creating wonderful memories in your lives. Time is flying by and my boys are growing and changing in many more ways than one. I have been scrapbooking allot more and have been enjoying having my own Meetup in which I mostly teach techniques and card making although recently we were able to have a fun scrapbooking day as well. I have met some wonderful women and am blessed get to know each of them and to have the opportunity to create with them as well. More importantly I feel so blessed to be able to share a hobby that can bring someone relaxation and countless years of joy. I wish you all a Happy Valentine’s Day, remember this day is for us all to celebrate whether we do this through gifts that show our affection and/or time spent doing special things with one another it is my wish that through it all you are treated as the special person you are. Take care and remember that joy is not in things it is in us. -christine
